Description

FilmFuser is a React Native (iOS/Android) app that helps groups of friends decide what to watch together, with no sign-up or accounts required. One person creates a movie night and shares a session code, friends join instantly, and everyone picks their preferred type and genres before swiping through personalized movie and series suggestions. Once the last person finishes, the whole group sees the shared result in real time.

As the sole mobile engineer at AxiomQ, I owned the app end to end, from architecture and the real-time WebSocket session layer to Reanimated animations, pixel-perfect Figma implementation, and releases to both stores through EAS.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end ownership — Owned the mobile development process end to end, from architecture to release.
• Real-time session layer — Built the real-time layer over WebSockets: session creation, code-based joining, host-controlled start, live sync of each user's progress, and the shared results reveal.
• Anonymous session state — Designed session state handling for anonymous users, with no authentication or persistent identity.
• CI/CD & releases — Owned CI/CD and releases to the App Store and Google Play through EAS Build and Submit.
• Animations — Built all animations with Reanimated, including the swipe card interactions.
• Pixel-perfect UI — Implemented pixel-perfect UI from Figma designs.
• Backend collaboration — Collaborated with the backend team on the WebSocket event contract and recommendation API.
